This policy explains how Maze — Classic Puzzle Game handles information when you play on iPhone, iPad or Android, visit these pages, or contact Gude Labs.
Your game progress is mainly stored on your device. The app also uses advertising, analytics and platform game services that can process information off your device. Offline puzzles do not mean that all app features are offline or that no data is collected.

Who we are and what this policy covers
Maze is operated by Shenzhen Gude Aipu Technology Co., Ltd (深圳市谷得艾普科技有限公司), under the Gude Labs brand, in Shenzhen, China. We are responsible for the personal information we handle in providing Maze. Contact us about privacy at zach@gudelabs.com.
This policy applies from the effective date above to Maze and these Maze policy pages. Features, SDKs and available controls differ by platform, app version, region and device settings; platform-specific practices are identified below. It does not describe every historical version or the practices of our other apps.
Game progress and information stored on your device
Maze does not require a separate Gude Labs account to play its core puzzles. Progress, unlocked levels, hint balance and preferences such as sound, appearance or movement settings are stored in the app’s local storage, as supported by your version. The app uses this information to continue your game and apply your preferences.
We do not operate a Maze cloud-save service that stores a complete copy of your local game. Platform game-service scores and achievements, SDK analytics and store purchase records are separate from that local save. Device backups or restores may include app data according to Apple or Android settings; uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete those backups.
Information used by connected features
When a connected feature or an integrated SDK operates, the following information may be processed, depending on your platform and choices:
- Device and connection information
- IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, device model, operating system, language, app version, app-instance identifiers and permitted advertising or app-scoped identifiers. Advertising services can also receive diagnostics and performance information.
- Usage and advertising events
- App launches, sessions, screens or gameplay-related events, advertisements requested or viewed, interactions with ads, and reward events. These help measure app use, advertising performance, reliability and fraud.
- Purchases
- Product and transaction identifiers, purchase or restoration results and entitlement status are used to deliver paid features. In the iOS version, purchase-flow events and StoreKit transaction information may also be processed through Firebase Analytics, depending on the analytics configuration. The store handles your payment details; Maze does not receive your full payment-card number or store-account password.
- Game-service information
- When signed in to the supported platform game service, player identifiers or profile information, submitted scores, progress-related scores and achievements may be processed by Apple Game Center or Google Play Games. Visibility to other players depends on that service and your settings.
- Advertising privacy choices
- Consent status, region-related information and the privacy choices available through the advertising consent service may be processed to present and remember relevant options.
- Messages you send us
- Your email address, message, and any device details, screenshots or attachments you choose to send are handled to investigate and respond. Please do not send passwords, full card details or unrelated sensitive information.
Advertising, analytics and service providers
Maze integrates Google Analytics for Firebase for app and purchase analytics, and Google Mobile Ads / AdMob for advertising. The iOS version also includes Pangle through AdMob mediation and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising privacy messages. Platform game features use Apple Game Center on iOS and Google Play Games on Android. These integrations do not all have identical controls on both platforms.
Information described above can be transmitted directly from your device to these providers. Advertising providers may use device identifiers, approximate location and ad interactions for ad delivery, measurement, personalization where permitted, and fraud prevention. Firebase Analytics uses app-instance and event information to help us understand and improve the app. The iOS version does not provide a standalone in-app switch that turns off all analytics. Available Android controls depend on the app version.
Pangle may receive device and advertising identifiers, IP address, app/device details and ad interaction information when its integrated advertising service operates. Its applicable privacy policy explains its processing and available rights. Do not assume that every mediation partner receives information on every ad request.
We disclose information for the services described here and require the safeguards applicable law requires. Providers may also process information for their own disclosed purposes, subject to their terms and privacy policies. We do not sell your support emails or local save files. Advertising-related transfers can be treated as sharing or targeted advertising under some privacy laws; the choices and rights below apply where available or required.
Why information is processed
We use information to provide gameplay and preferences, verify purchases, operate scores and achievements, deliver and measure advertising, understand app use, respond to support requests, maintain security and reliability, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.
Where a legal basis is required, necessary service and purchase processing is based on providing the requested service, legal obligations apply to required records, and proportionate security or support processing may rely on legitimate interests where permitted. Consent is required for processing that applicable law or platform rules make subject to consent, including relevant tracking or personalized advertising. This policy is a notice, not blanket permission for every form of processing.
Your advertising, tracking and notification choices
On iOS, Maze uses UMP to determine whether an advertising consent form or privacy-options entry is required. If “Privacy and cookie settings” is shown in Maze’s settings, use it to review or change the choices offered. Its availability depends on the consent service and applicable requirements; it is not a universal analytics-off switch.
You can manage iOS tracking requests in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, use the advertising/privacy controls available in your device’s settings; names and options vary by system version. Restricting an advertising identifier or declining tracking does not stop every ad, all diagnostics or all analytics. Core puzzle play does not require you to allow cross-app tracking.
The iOS version can request notification permission and schedule local reminders. You can deny or revoke that permission in iOS Settings → Notifications → Maze. Declining notifications does not prevent core puzzle play. No notification preference is treated as consent to advertising tracking.
Remove Ads is a purchase that removes automatic interstitial advertisements. Optional rewarded hint videos remain available, and related advertising SDKs may still initialize or load rewarded ads. Buying Remove Ads does not disable analytics or all advertising-related data processing.
Game Center and Google Play Games
Maze can authenticate with the platform game service and submit scores or achievements while you are signed in. Your nickname, profile and scores may be visible through leaderboards or the service’s social features according to its rules and your account settings. A leaderboard score is not a complete backup of your game save.
Use Apple’s Game Center or Google Play Games settings to manage sign-in, profile visibility and available data controls. Google also provides options to delete Play Games data. These actions are managed by the platform and may affect achievements or game-service progress; they do not necessarily delete local Maze data, purchases or advertising records.
These pages and support correspondence
These pages are hosted by Vercel. Serving a page involves technical information such as IP address, request time, page path and browser/system information for delivery, security and troubleshooting. Vercel handles this information under its applicable service configuration and privacy notice.
The Maze policy pages do not add advertising SDKs, analytics scripts or tracking pixels, and do not intentionally set advertising cookies. Links to stores or provider websites lead to services with their own policies. This statement about the pages does not describe the mobile app’s advertising and analytics SDKs.
If you contact zach@gudelabs.com, we and our email service providers handle the information you send for support and necessary follow-up. Using an email link only prepares a message in your email app; it does not send the message automatically.
Storage, retention and deletion
Local game data normally remains until you clear app data, remove the app or replace it through a device restore, subject to the operating system’s behavior. Offloading an app, signing out of a game service, or reinstalling from a backup can preserve or restore some information. Check your device backups separately.
We retain support correspondence and other information under our control only for as long as needed for the purposes described, including resolving requests and meeting applicable security, transaction or legal requirements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. The appropriate period depends on the record and purpose, rather than a single period for every data type.
SDK analytics, advertising records, platform game data and store transaction records have separate retention settings and provider policies. Uninstalling Maze does not automatically erase records already held by those services. For information processed on our behalf, contact us so we can assess and carry out applicable requests; for independently controlled platform data, we may direct you to the relevant provider’s controls. We cannot promise to identify or erase every provider record from an email address alone.
Your privacy rights and how to contact us
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, a copy or portability of personal information, restrictions on processing, or object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent, opt out of applicable targeted advertising or sharing, and complain to a competent data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Send requests to zach@gudelabs.com with “Maze privacy” in the subject and tell us your platform, app version and the information or choice concerned. We may request only the information reasonably needed to verify and handle your request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, explain any lawful limits, and will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
There is no separate Maze account to delete. For local data, use your device’s app-storage controls; for information you sent us or that we control, contact us. Some records must be retained by law or cannot be linked to you without additional information, which we will explain where relevant.
Security, disclosures and international processing
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device and platform accounts and avoid emailing sensitive credentials.
Our operator is based in Shenzhen, China. Apple, Google, Pangle, hosting and email providers may process information in other countries where they or their service providers operate. Applicable contractual or other lawful safeguards are used where required; the relevant provider policies explain their international processing. We do not promise that all information stays in one country.
Information may also be disclosed when legally required, to address fraud or security threats, or to protect lawful rights, with disclosures limited as applicable law requires. If a business transfer affects information we control, appropriate notice and safeguards will apply; it does not authorize an undisclosed new purpose.
Children and guardians
A store age rating describes content suitability and does not by itself establish consent to data processing or purchases. Where a child’s use or personal-information processing requires guardian involvement or consent, a parent or guardian should review the app, its advertising, platform account settings and this policy before use.
If you believe a child has provided information that we should not retain, contact zach@gudelabs.com. We will investigate and take the steps required by applicable law, including deletion of information under our control where appropriate. We do not ask children to send sensitive information to obtain support.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its effective date when practices materially change, and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required before new processing begins. Continued use alone does not replace consent when consent is required.
English and Simplified Chinese versions describe the same policy. If wording is unclear or appears inconsistent, contact us for clarification; no translation limits rights that applicable law gives you.
